Traditional presentations force you into a rigid, sequential "Slide 1 to Slide 2 to Slide 3" linear delivery. Modern presentations leverage Hyperlinks, Action Buttons, and Slide Zoom to create interactive, non-linear dashboards, clickable self-service kiosks, and dynamic branching presentations.

Creating Hyperlinks (Ctrl + K)

Hyperlinks connect slide elements to external resources or other slides within your deck:

   Select any text, shape, icon, or picture.

   Go to Insert > Link (or press Ctrl + K).

   In the Insert Hyperlink dialog, choose from 4 target destinations:

• Existing File or Web Page: Opens an external website URL (e.g., your company portal or live dashboard) or opens a separate file (e.g., an Excel model or PDF contract).
• Place in This Document: Select a specific slide (e.g., Slide 14 - Financial Model) or jump to predefined targets (First Slide, Last Slide, Next Slide, Previous Slide).
• Create New Document: Generates a new file when clicked.
• E-mail Address: Opens the user's default email client pre-addressed to a recipient with a designated subject line.

Interactive Action Buttons

Action Buttons are ready-to-use vector shapes configured with pre-programmed interactive behaviors:

The Power of PowerPoint Zoom Navigation

Introduced in Microsoft 365, the Zoom engine creates seamless Prezi-style non-linear visual zooming:

• Summary Zoom: Generates a landing dashboard containing clickable mini-previews of each section. During the show, clicking Section 2 zooms deep into that slide. When Section 2 finishes, PowerPoint smoothly zooms back out to the master agenda dashboard!
• Section Zoom: Drag a section header directly from the thumbnail pane onto any slide canvas to create an instant interactive zoom tile.
• Slide Zoom: Drag any individual slide thumbnail from the left pane directly onto your active slide canvas.
